Our Journey

Sometimes the smartest renovation

A renovation that costs 80% of a new build delivers maybe 40% of a new home's value.

Some homes are worth renovating. Some homes are doing more harm than good — uneconomical to repair, badly oriented, lay-outed for a different era, structurally compromised. We've seen clients pour $400k into homes that would have been better off demolished.

Knock-down-rebuild lets you keep the land — usually the most valuable part of the asset — while replacing the building with something purpose-built for how your family actually lives. New foundations, new services, new layout, new everything. Often the better long-term financial decision.

Who We Are

Why honest assessment matters

Sometimes the smartest renovation is no renovation at all. We'll tell you that upfront if it applies.

We've been called out to assess renovation feasibility for homes where the right answer was clearly knock-down-rebuild but the homeowner had been talked into another major renovation by their last builder. Half a million dollars spent, fundamental problems still there, no return on the investment when they sell. Sometimes the maths just doesn't work, and being honest about that upfront saves the client an enormous amount of money long-term.

We're a custom new build specialist as well as a renovation builder, which puts us in a useful position — we can run the numbers honestly on either path without preference. If your home is genuinely worth renovating, we'll quote the renovation. If it's better off demolished and rebuilt, we'll quote that. Either way you get a real answer, not the answer that maximises our scope.
